Shopping List:
3/4 c. hot water
5 Tbsp. margarine
1/2 c. powdered milk
1 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten
3 c. whole wheat flour
bone-shaped cookie cutter
Place the margarine in a large bowl and pour
hot water over it. Then stir in powdered milk, salt
and egg. Add the flour, 1/2 c. at a time. Knead
the mixture several minutes to form a stiff dough.
Pat or roll the dough to a 1/2" thickness. Using a
bone-shaped cookie-cutter, cut out the treats.
Bake at 325 degrees for 50 minutes. Cool. This
recipe will make 1-1/4 pounds of treats. Store
the treats in a container with a tight-fitting lid.
